SEATTLE — On Sunday, Ken Griffey Jr. will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. His induction, however, uniquely benefits the Seattle Children's Hospital.

A custom limited edition commemorative bat has been created in Griffey's honor. All proceeds from the bat sales will support the Ken Griffey Jr. Family Pediatric Cancer Research Endowment at Seattle Children's Hospital.

The bat will feature the iconic "Swingman" logo as well as 13 stars representing his All-Star appearances. Each bat is $300 and will include a certificate of authenticity verified by The Griffey Family Foundation and CharityBats.com. Bats are only available online at SeattleChildrens.org/GriffeyBats.

Griffey was the first overall pick in the 1987 First-Year Player Draft, in which he played 11 seasons with the Seattle Mariners. Griffey is a 13-time All Star and 10-time Golden Glove winner. He finished his career with 630 home runs.

Griffey will be celebrated at Safeco Field during "Ken Griffey Jr. Weekend" Aug. 5-7. During that weekend fans may receive a Hall of Fame Griffey bobblehead doll, a replica of Griffey's Hall of Fame plaque and a replica of the jersey Griffey wore during his 1989 rookie season.
