Trooper taken to hospital after crash at traffic stop

FIFE, Wash. — Two people, including a trooper, were taken to the hospital after a crash on Interstate 5 on Friday morning.

The trooper was conducting a traffic stop around 6:30 a.m. on SB I-5 near Emerald Queen Casino in Fife when his car was hit.

Authorities have not specifically said whether the trooper was inside or outside of his car when the crash happened. KIRO 7 News is working to learn how severe his injuries are.

Three cars are involved in the crash.

Washington State Patrol reminds drivers that they should slow down or move over when authorities are working on the side of the road.
